Not everyone can adequately manage their credit card spending and because banks were incredibly willing to loan for a number of years... a lot of people have way more debt than they should. Call it irresponsible lending or call it irresponsible people. The principal of it is the same... while somewhat inconvenient - cash is king and it is hard to spend money on impulse buys or things you don't NEED if you don't have funds on hand. <br/><br/>We personally have resorted back to carrying cash. You get better prices at some gas stations (HyVees, for example). We are better at saving and spending because we operate with a cash budget.
